Circulation and succession

History of mankind has put constant efforts to deliver information effectively.

The first step of transmission was l anguage and the second was letters. The two ways were a means of transmitting information for that period of time, yet still those are in use even if it has shown a lot of changes. The two ways of the transmission ,which will be transfigured, are expected to be constantly used in the future a lot. Before the invention of typography, mankind had used hand writing for transmitting information.

The third step of transmitting information, typography, which contains the bases of languages and letters, opened the new period of the transmission. Around the eighth century, since wood-printing types (around year 700) had started to be used, a means of the transmission was inconceivably developed. In the middle of the eleventh century, Gyo Ni printing types was invented and in the beginning of the fourteenth century wood-printing types of Wang Jung was invented as well. The two inventions were a turning point of history transmitting information.

Especially, metal printing types that was invented the first in the world around 1230, is the one of the greatest work in world history.

Invention of printing was carried on to publishing, and then finally enabled a wide range of transmitting information thr oughout a large quantity of publishing. With the inventions of printings and development of publishing, history of transmitting information continued for 1300 years. In that period of time, metal printing was the flower of transmitting information as well as the essence of printing.

However, after the 19th century, because of the advent of the fourth and the fifth step, telecommunication broadcasting period and information oriented society and new media period , printing has lost its popularity. In this perspective, no one can predict the future of metal printing at this point.
