site's excavation, the following was unearthed.
Hungdeok temple site's bronze
gong
The bronze gong engraved
with was excavated
from the damaged site and was also burned. However the fact
that informs the name of the temple site makes it an
invaluable relic. Currently it is hard to distinguish the
front and the back of the bronze gong, however, one side is
engraved with vine design and the other with lotus flower
design. The side which is engraved with words is divided into
left and right by rising lines, and above the lines a loop is
hanging. The engraved words ,which begins below the loop was
written in correct letters. Only 15 letters are left but it is
assumed that the name of the people that made donations were
written below. Judged by the fact that it followed the
traditional Shilla style, the place name , the
manufactured day of bronze gong, , is assumed to
be the 5th year of Goryeo king Gwangjong's reign(954). Current
gong 's size is 36cm long and 11cm wide
